In line with our commitment to community engagement and support, we are thrilled to partner with VonArx Engineering to bring you the “Back to the 80’s, Back to School 5K Run.” VonArx Engineering, a valued Chamber member and local civil engineering firm, shares our passion for community involvement and has been the proud sponsor of the Hillsboro 5K for the past three years. Owners Dave and Kelley VonArx, who serve as the Race Directors, bring their love of running and dedication to community improvement to this event.
Dave, a lifelong runner who competed in cross country in high school and college, started his business in Hillsboro in 2002. Kelley joined him as a business partner 10 years ago. Together, they are dedicated to building, improving, and growing the communities where their clients live and work through professional civil and structural engineering services. Running, a sport that embodies endurance, perseverance, determination, and commitment, is central to VonArx Engineering’s values.
These same characteristics are essential for small business ownership and completing client projects. Dave and Kelley are committed to giving back to the community, and their love of running makes their role as sponsors and race directors a perfect fit. This collaboration allows us to combine our efforts to support Brendan’s Friday Backpack, collect school supplies for the Hillsboro School District, and provide a fun, nostalgic event for all participants.
