My seventh grade daughter, Audrey, recently attended an entertaining teen karaoke night at the newly-opened, The Green Room, on our charming and historic Festus Main Street.
She wanted to share her own story, and her own photographs, from her experience that evening.
In Audrey’s words:
“I am here to explain how The Green Room looks and how The Green Room is, and how fun it is.
When I first walked in, I saw these beautiful chairs and all the beautiful decorations. It was just beautiful.
I paid an entrance fee which was only six dollars.
They have all sorts of games there. They have maybe six TVs inside and they have microphones for karaoke.
On different days of the week, they have different themes of what their night is going to be. Like some nights, it is Disney karaoke and some nights, it is teen karaoke.
Teen karaoke was my theme of the night I went. Teen karaoke was so much fun!
I really enjoyed all the people there. There were some amazing singers that night. I am glad there were a lot of Taylor Swift songs to sing, which were my favorite.
I had so much fun and I can’t wait to go back there again!
Thank you, Ms. Courtney, for creating The Green Room!”
Thank you to my itty-bitty mini-me for having the courage to show up, sing your heart out, and share your experience with our community.

The owner of The Green Room, Courtney Wisely, is amazing! She provided the first photo of the girls singing. Courtney is extremely active in our community. She and I met in 2023 through:
