Embracing a “beginner’s mind” is available to all of us. It means internally showing up as a student, ready to learn and participate. It requires setting aside what we think we know, to invite in a curious mindset. In turn, we receive a shift in our perspective. While it can be simple, it is not always easy.
Brittni Boyer, owner of the new Vinyasa Yoga Studio on our historic and charming Festus/Crystal City Main Street, welcomes and encourages all to walk through her beautiful doors, embracing a beginner’s mind. She extends an invitation to release the chatter about how one may think they look or move, and just show up with a blank space, open to receive.
Brittni and her team celebrate everyBODY, while supporting the courage and vulnerability it takes to lean into something new. They support this growth by providing an open, clean, and aesthetically inspiring space that provides an opportunity to set aside what you may think you know about breathing and how your body moves.
The open-concept studio and open-concept mindfulness is foundational within each of the many classes that they teach. Whether you are looking to unwind and slow down; or rev up and gain momentum, classes such as Vinyasa Flow, Slow Flow, Candlelit Restore, Yoga Sculpt, and Cardio Dance help people of all ages and experience levels to breathe and embrace a better mindset and body.
Brittni beamed with pride, explaining that their classes are designed to encourage betterment in all aspects of life. She said yoga helps to express thankfulness and gratitude for our mind, body, and soul. She said yoga also teaches us to trust ourselves. The after-effects of learning new ways to practice breathing while using your mind and body can linger with you long after the studio/mat time.
Brittni and her compassionate team believe the benefits of practicing yoga is not rooted within a performance inside the studio, or on the mat. It is rooted within an inner centering of one’s authentic self.
Sometimes it just takes showing up to move in the right direction to find our inner most authentic self. Surprisingly, motivation FOLLOWS action. We will not be inspired or motivated by simply thinking. It takes an actual first step to act, with the intention to have a curious beginner’s mind.
As we watch ourselves choose an action that supports our wishes and desires, making itty-bitty steps toward a goal of growth, the incremental shifts start to gain motivational momentum; and, as Brittni says, we learn to trust ourselves.
The Vinyasa Yoga Studio team invites you to take the first step with them. Allow yourself to set aside any beliefs or assumptions about what you think you will experience with yoga. Release those limiting stories you may have regarding your physical body, and/or emotional mindset.
This is a non-paid endorsement, encouraging you to practice having a beginner’s mind as you experience personal betterment within the beautiful, clean, safe, and welcoming space that Vinyasa Yoga Studio provides.
A haven for those seeking the joy of dance and the transformative power of yoga.
