With the start of this new school year in Festus, Missouri, I am thinking about all the kiddos who will be riding the buses, many for the first time.
As we all practice patience getting into new routines over the next few weeks, I was reflecting on a 2023 reflection, feeling into my gratitude for our trusted local transportation team:
When people and schedules are so reliable and automatic, it is easy to take them for granted. As my daughter stepped onto her Festus, MO school bus this morning, I took a moment to mentally thank her bus driver for always being on-time and ready to safely transport her, and all the other students, to school.I then thought about the number of busses in the Festus school district and became curious about all of the behind-the-scene magic that must happen within the Festus Bus Garage:
– Drivers to have efficient route schedules
– Proper/safe mechanics + cleanliness on each bus
– Trustworthy drivers
– Polite people to answer the phones
…and much more!
Rather than keeping this gratitude within my head, I wanted to deliver public praise to all the Festus bus drivers and team members who deliver our students to and from school. I am one parent (of many) who extend my sincere appreciation for your consistent dedication. You allow all of us to live a more automatic life.
Please share this with those in these roles and encourage your child to take an itty-bitty moment to thank their school bus driver this week.
