Do you have a favorite day of the week?
How about a least-favorite day of the week?
For the longest time, I loathed Tuesdays. I had even labeled them “Crabby Tuesdays.”
For years, I woke up and hated this day because I seemed to be on a mission to find evidence for why Tuesdays were the worst day of the week. I wanted to prove to myself, and others, that this was just a day that could go away. Perhaps it was a way to give me full permission to be crabby, which is often much easier than being nice and optimistic.
Week in and week out, it became a negative routine.
At some point, toward the end of 2023, I became curious about these internal patterns and “truths” that I created.
Were “Tuesdays” really to blame?
Was there really one day a week that was consistently “bad,” or was this an itty-bitty disillusion that I had made my truth?
My curiosity led me to experiment with Tuesdays.
If I could find consistent, negative evidence within one particular day of the week, could I find consistent, positive evidence, instead?
I decided to change my focus and reinvent my Tuesdays.
I tried it.
…And I liked it.
A new truth emerged.
By golly, Tuesdays could be cool.
You know what, Sam-I-am, I do like Green Eggs and Ham!
Now, Tuesdays are days I absolutely love.
In addition to my commitment to find positive evidence throughout the day, I make efforts to ensure I set myself up with all my favorite things. This “set-up” starts the night-before.
On Monday evenings, I set out my favorite outfit to wear on Tuesdays.
I set out my favorite coffee mug to accompany my favorite hazelnut coffee, as I pre-program my coffee maker to ensure I have my coffee hot and ready for me when I wake up. This is a warm way to welcome a positive start to my Tuesday mornings.
I create the best schedule for myself on Tuesdays, incorporating my favorite positive and nourishing meals, activities, music, and interactions.
By reinventing Tuesdays, with a reinvented perspective, I now have something to look forward to. I now find evidence, all day long, with a solidified truth that Tuesday IS a terrific day.
What is even more terrific is knowing that I held the power within my own thoughts and actions to re-invent something negative to something positive.
I was the one who made the decision to have the courageous choice to be nice and optimistic, even if an itty-bitty part of me liked being crabby.
This is a non-crabby, non-paid endorsement inviting you to reflect on your least-favorite day of the week.
Might you experiment to find positive evidence to reinvent this day?
I hope, within your experiment, you are able to realize how much power you hold to reinvent any day of the week; or, anything in your life.
These pictures were taken of a toad (perhaps a frog?…I am uneducated within the variations of this species) in my Festus, Missouri neighborhood. I chose these images to show that this life is all about our perspective.
While one person might think a particular day of the week, or something, or even someone, is ugly; another person finds beauty, brilliance, and glory. May we all hold space for curiosity and intrigue, as we analyze our perspective.
As always, I am curious about your perspective on this topic. Please share your comments, stories, and pictures on social media. Thank you for sharing, connecting, and supporting positivity.
Another time when we found a frog and reflected on reinvention:
This is a fitting, correlating quote:
These pictures were actually taken close to my neighbor Kate’s house. I love how she has reinvented her life, as well:
