A Vacation State of Mind in Sainte Genevieve

River Rapids Waterpark in Saint Gen

Having grown up in Wisconsin, I consider this kind of summer heat “vacation weather.” I can feel you rolling your eyes at me. I can also I hear you saying, “Really, the sweltering heat and humidity, Sara!?” Okay, yes, while the triple digits from this last week have not felt very vacation-y, when it’s in the high 80’s, it feels like the perfect kind of “vacation weather” to be outside, preferably in the water!

When it heats up, my kiddos and I love to travel 30 miles south of Festus to Sainte Genevieve, Missouri to feel like we are on a vacation at the River Rapids Waterpark.

Since many of you may be bringing your littles to visit, I wanted you to hear what my little kiddos had to say about this perfect place to actually enjoy this kind of summer heat:

In their own words:

“Hi, my name is Dayton. I am 10. I’m going to review the Sainte Gen. waterpark.

So, when you first get there, you have to pay and it’s very easy to do.

The place is huge.

There’s usually a Kona Ice truck. You can get a bunch of flavors in your snow cone.

The seating is pretty good there.

There is a small kids’ pool/area with some slides that are actually pretty fun. Even though I’m 10, I still go on it because, who cares!?

It also has a squirter so you can be silly to shoot people with water.

On the other side there, is a big lazy river, like a huge lazy river, that you can relax on.

There are also cool water slides. For the blue one, just grab a mat and go down. You almost fly because of how big and fun the impact is at the end!

There is a red slide. Actually that one is the scariest slide that I’ve ever been on. It goes straight down, like straight down, and to me, it’s really scary!

Then there are the two green slides. I like using the tube. It’s really fun. I’ve been on all the slides and I love this place!

“Hi, my name is Audrey and I am 13 years old. I want to share my experience at Sainte Genevieve waterpark. I would say the River Rapids Waterpark is probably my favorite waterpark that I’ve ever gone to. I love how the water feels when you get in. It is always so nice and cool when it is hot outside.

Whenever I go there, they always have Kona Ice and they let you choose as many flavors as you want.

I love all the waterslides. They have four big slides. One is the tall, red one. On the big blue one, you ride down on your stomach.

There are two green slides. One is covered and you use a tube. The other one is not covered and you sit to go down.

I also love the lazy river and the big diving boards. They also have a big climbing wall that goes into the water. When you fall in, it’s very fun!”

This is a non-paid endorsement from our family to yours, encouraging you to stay cool in the water and have fun at the River Rapids Waterpark in Sainte Genevieve, Missouri. Wishing you itty-bitty moments to savor this kind of summer heat. I believe we can create a vacation state of mind regardless of where we travel to, how far we go, or even if we actually leave our house at all.
