Space for a Festus Artist

An itty-bitty artist in Festus, MO

Today is my son’s ninth birthday. He received a Mario Brothers sketchbook and colorful erasable gel pens this morning. The sketchbook is blank, each page waiting for an artist to decide how it will look and feel. Each page also provides unlimited opportunities for an itty-bitty, budding illustrator to draw what his heart desires.

On the first page, my son decided to establish goals for how he will use his new sketchbook. Watching his mental wheels spin as he thought, and then light up as he enthusiastically recorded his objectives, elated my soul.

This is a perfect example of how we can allow creativity to fuel our passion while setting an intentional plan. We can set goals for any situation and find inspiration in the blank pages and spaces in our life.

I am looking forward to observing both the development of how this sketchbook will look and feel, as well as the development of my son’s artistic journey.

If anyone knows of an individual or location that offers private or group art lessons for a nine-year-old in Festus, Missouri, please let me know. We are very interested in exploring this.

Wishing you space to set the look and feel of your day.

Another time I celebrated with this growing boy:

May We Go to Pogolino’s, Please!?
