I wanted to shine the light on a local non-profit organization, the Twin City Area Optimist Club, as they participated in two 2024 community events offering FREE bike helmets for children:
Check out what they had to say:
WHO | Twin City Area Optimist Club |
WHAT | Free Bike Helmets for Children |
SHARE | Our Optimist Club strives to bring out the best in youth and our community in everything we do.
In August, we partnered with Trailnet and the Bottleneck Bridge Bike Race and conducted a bicycle safety rodeo and fitted and gave away helmets for children. Later, we again fitted and gave away bike helmets to children during Twin City Days. At both events the children and their parents were so happy to receive the helmets! |
CONNECT |
There is obviously a need in our community for more bicycle safety equipment and our Optimist Club is helping fill that need.
|
SUPPORT | Our volunteers provide other services for youth, from having Christmas parties for children in Head Start programs to scholarships for students heading to Jefferson College.
We are proud to be a strong element in our southern Jefferson County area. |
