Do you remember those red buttons that Staples put out a few years ago? They sat on your desk and you would press it, and it would say, “That Was Easy!”?
When I worked at Keller Williams Premier Realty in Rochester, Minnesota, many years ago, we had the most fun with this thing!
I recently connected that fun feeling of something being genuinely, authentically, easy and simple when reflecting on my relationship with my big brother, Ryan.
From the time I was itty-bitty, it has always been easy to hang out with him, easy to laugh with him, easy to connect with him, easy to feel worthy with his presence, easy to dream with him.
When I spoke to him a couple years ago, it was easy to talk about my dreams and desires to have more connections within this new-to-me Festus-area community. I also talked to him about my dream to start writing more. I had not really thought to connect the two, at that time; but, Ryan found it easy to connect the dots as a way for my dreams to easily come to fruition.
He encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone to meet new people and to simply write something everyday. This seemed easy enough. But, when he challenged me to authentically share about my connections and experiences as a way to support this community that I love, that was a little scary for me. But, my big brother made it all seem so simple and easy. So I trusted him then, and now.
Anytime I see a giant hurdle, or what I think is an impossible task, I talk with him. He softens the fears to make solutions feel realistically achievable, with an easy energy. I just want to press that big red Staples button when the solutions come to fruition, with ease!
I am grateful and blessed to have his encouragement to know that, despite my internal trepidations, this life CAN be easy.
As I wish my big brother a happy birthday, as I express my gratitude to him for helping to make my life easy. He is a blessing to everyone he meets with his comforting, yet encouraging, easy energy.
This is a non-paid endorsement, inviting you to reflect on the easy relationships in your life, and how you might be able to apply that easy energy to other areas, perhaps to overcome your own internal trepidations.
Perhaps the dreams and outcomes you desire can come to fruition easier than you think.
As always, it is so helpful when you can share this/your feedback, connect, and support others. It can be that easy.
Oh, and please, let’s have fun with this one…does anyone still have one of these “That Was Easy!” Staples buttons!?
Please share your pictures or fun stories with us on social media. I need to get a button for my desk.
